ART-Courier presents the first private special-purpose vault (depository) in Russia.

A multilevel security system and special micro-climatic conditions make it possible to provide constantly reliable safekeeping for works of art, securities, jewellery, documents and objects of significant artistic and material value.

ART-Courier provides all necessary safekeeping guarantees for valuables placed in the vault, as well as ensuring the absolute confidentiality of each deposit and customer personal data.

Due to its convenient location in the city of Moscow with good access to transport hubs, the vault provides rapid and convenient logistical support for the transportation of art valuables.

A large transit area inside the building allows all kinds of loading and unloading operations to be handled in a confined space with a minimum temperature difference.

Adjoining the vault is a warehouse, where all kinds of packaging services are carried out and where the packing containers for the transportation of art valuables are stored.

Technical characteristics

The vault is a specially equipped premises made of cast concrete with built-in locking doors and is fitted out with modern systems for automatic gas fire suppression and high accuracy temperature and humidity control.

The system of continuous automatic climate regime monitoring installed in the vault is characterised by high precision temperature and humidity control, reliable operation and full compatibility with the micro-climate control system, which ensures the maintenance of a special temperature as well as humidity conditions that meet all requirements, including those of museums.

Fine filters installed in the ventilation units and a central dust-removal system protect the vault from polluting gases that have a negative effect on art valuables.

The illumination level allows the possible effects of light on the art valuables to be minimised.

The storage of art valuables is handled in accordance with their categories in special constructions used by the world's major museums: modular mobile mesh storage boxes for the double-sided storing of paintings and icons in a vertical position, and open-access rack-cabinets with reinforced shelves and sealable boxes for the secure storage of three-dimensional works of art.

The surfaces of all parts of the equipment and mesh are zinc-plated, chemically neutral and harmless to the objects.

For the safekeeping of valuable papers and documents, as well as jewellery, special deposit boxes can be provided upon request.

Security measures

A modern integrated security system guarantees the highest level of protection.

A private secured area with a single access point, 24-hour armed guard and video surveillance, modern fire-extinguishing system, standby power service, information security and system of access control ensure the complete safety of the material valuables stored at the premises.

Multilevel access control to the vault is operated via a central security console and includes biometric access system for authorised staff, built into the safe doors of the vault.

The vault is equipped with a unique modern system of gas fire suppression, which is safe for both people and objects of art. In case of fire the system allows the fire to be quickly located and extinguished at an early stage by reducing the oxygen content in the atmosphere.

A powerful standby power service supports the reliable and problem-free operation of all systems – security, communications, climate and other vital functions. It analyses the quality of the incoming voltage, and automatically switches to battery operation in the event of a voltage drop or power failure until the restoration of normal voltage.

Risk hedging

In June 2013 experts from Lloyd's of London carried out a comprehensive inspection of all the risks associated with the activities of the vault and proclaimed that it conformed with all international standards.

All the valuables placed in the vault are compulsorily insured for the declared value through the international insurance broker Marsh, with direct reinsurance by Lloyd's of London.

The insurance of valuables deposited for safekeeping by the client is handled on an individual basis, with the premium being calculated using an individual quotation based on the actual storage time and the cost of the valuables.
